The Club de Montaña Daroca and the Federación Aragonesa de Montaña staged the fifth edition of the Daroca Trail on February 22, part of the Copa de Aragón mountain racing calendar. Fields set off from Paseo la Constitución at 09:30, with every distance starting and finishing beneath the Puerta Baja, one of the best-known corners of the walled city.

This year's edition introduced new zones and redesigned sections across the existing 25K, 17K and 12K trail routes, alongside a 12K hiking option (Andada Senderista) and a brand-new 6K distance aimed at bringing first-timers into the mountain-running scene.

The course took runners up out of the valley on exposed rock singletrack, with the honey-coloured cliffs and cave dwellings of Daroca giving way to open farmland, before dropping back through pine forest on the return legs — terrain that produced some of the day's sharpest images, from steep switchbacks in view of the town to shaded pack running under the trees.

Image Media covered the event on the ground with a four-person team — Michael Rosa, Will Becker, Marcelo Lopes and Felipe Albano — split between the climbs above the city and the forest sections, to give participants a full record of their day on the trail.
