Matosinhos Throwdown took place in Matosinhos on 28 March 2026, bringing together 400 athletes for a crosstraining competition covered by the Image Media team.
The organiser set the competition in an HHM trio format, with RX, Intermediate and Scaled divisions. The structure placed teams of three on the competition floor while opening the event to athletes competing at different experience levels.
The images from the competition show the range of work on the floor: one athlete stabilising a loaded barbell in the front-rack position and another holding a handstand, with judges, competitors and other activity continuing around them.
The Image Media team covering the competition comprised Eduardo Almeida, Luciano, Michael Rosa, Eduardo Pereira and Thaina, working across the event to document both the athletic performances and the wider competition environment.
The resulting coverage records the strength, control and concentration demanded on the competition floor while preserving the shared atmosphere of Matosinhos Throwdown.
