Elite Fitness KIDSROX brought young athletes and their families together in Dublin on Sunday, 30 August, for a day of age-group fitness racing.
The event placed the focus on movement and effort, with competitors progressing through a course that combined running with functional challenges. At the sled station, athletes had to keep driving forward while controlling a weighted load between the course markers.
A competition designed around young athletes
KIDSROX adapted the language of fitness racing for younger competitors. The result was a structured sporting challenge, but also an event in which families could follow the action closely and celebrate each finish.
Podium presentations gave the age groups their own moment at the end of the competition. Away from the racing lanes, the event mascot met children and helped sustain the relaxed atmosphere around the course.
